European quality, in concrete terms
European quality is not a claim that we are better than anyone else. It is a list of working practices that you can check: an EU company, GDPR as the default, written agreements, hosting in the EU, communication in English and a European time zone.
What we mean by it
Agencies that buy production from a partner carry the risk of that partner towards their own clients. They need to know which law the work falls under, where data goes, who answers a message and what happens when something goes wrong. A phrase such as “European quality” says nothing about that unless it is backed by practice. This page lists the practices, so that you can compare them with what you require.
| Practice | What it means in daily work | Why it matters to a partner |
|---|---|---|
| An EU company | Neonrocket s. r. o. is registered in Slovakia, a member state of the European Union. Company ID 56175205, VAT ID SK2122238668. | Contracts and invoices fall under EU rules, and you can verify the company in public registers. |
| Data protection by default | The GDPR is our baseline for personal data. Where we process data for you, we sign a data processing agreement first. | You can demonstrate to your own client how their data is handled. |
| Hosting in the EU | Websites we host run on our own servers in the EU. We do not publish technical details of our servers. | Your client’s site and data stay in the EU. |
| Written agreements | Scope, price, delivery model and confidentiality are agreed in writing before any work starts. | No disputes about assumptions, and a document you can show to your own client. |
| Language and time zone | We work in English, Slovak and Czech in the Central European time zone, which overlaps with most of the European working day. | Questions are answered the same day, without waiting for another continent to wake up. |
| Accessibility as a standard | We build new sites with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 as the target. | Accessibility rules are tightening in Europe, so it is cheaper to build it in than to fix it later. |
| People review the work | AI speeds up repetitive work, but design, structure, key functions and the final review are done by people. | Nothing reaches your client unchecked. |
| Privacy on our own site | We use analytics only after your consent, no advertising cookies and no remarketing. | We apply to ourselves the rules we apply to client sites. |
Data protection: GDPR as the baseline
According to the European Commission, the General Data Protection Regulation has applied since 25 May 2018 across the European Economic Area (source: European Commission, legal framework of EU data protection (opens in a new window)). For a white label partnership it has a practical consequence. When we work on a site that collects personal data, for example a contact form or a shop, we act on behalf of your agency or your client, and we regulate that in a data processing agreement. We only access what the job needs, we agree access in advance and we close it when the job ends. Our own privacy rules are on the privacy policy and cookies pages.
Accessibility
The European Commission lists e-commerce among the services covered by the European Accessibility Act (source: European Commission, European Accessibility Act (opens in a new window)). The technical reference commonly used for web content is WCAG 2.2, a W3C Recommendation published in December 2024 (W3C, WCAG 2.2 (opens in a new window)). We build new sites with semantic structure, keyboard operation, sufficient contrast and text alternatives, and we check the main points before launch. We cannot certify that a finished site complies with the law, because that depends on its content and use and needs an assessment of the finished site.
Language and time zone
Slovakia lies in the Central European time zone, one hour ahead of the United Kingdom and six hours ahead of New York. For agencies in Europe that means a shared working day, and for agencies in the United Kingdom a large overlap in the morning. For other regions we agree availability at the start of the collaboration. We communicate with partners in English, and with Slovak and Czech clients in their own languages.
Hosting and backups
Websites that we host run on our own servers in the EU, in separate environments. Backups are kept in several places, not only on the server: besides the backups on the server, a copy goes every week to a storage in our office, and several times a year to a disk disconnected from the network. Restoring and testing a restore are agreed with you as needed. More on the hosting and maintenance page.
What European quality does not mean
It is not an official mark, and we do not use it as proof that others are worse. It does not mean unlimited capacity: we are a small team and we plan capacity with partners instead of promising volume. It does not guarantee results such as search rankings or sales. And it does not replace your own legal advice about your client’s obligations, for example under accessibility or consumer law.
Frequently asked questions
06 questions
Is “European quality” an official certificate or label?
No. It is not a certificate, a legal term or an EU mark. It is our name for a set of working practices you can check, such as an EU company, GDPR as the default, written agreements and hosting in the EU. We do not claim that work from other regions is worse.
Does it mean you are a large agency?
No. We are a small team led by the founder. European quality describes how we work, not how big we are.
Do you invoice agencies from other EU countries without Slovak VAT?
For businesses in other EU countries with a valid VAT ID, services are in most cases invoiced under the reverse charge mechanism, without Slovak VAT. We confirm the treatment in each proposal, because it depends on the service and on the customer.
Will you sign a data processing agreement?
Yes. Where we process personal data on behalf of your agency or your client, we conclude a data processing agreement in line with the GDPR before the work starts.
Which languages do you work in?
English, Slovak and Czech. Written communication with partners is in English unless we agree otherwise.
Can you guarantee that a website meets accessibility law?
No. We build new sites with the accessibility guidelines WCAG 2.2 as the target and check the main points, but legal compliance of a finished site depends on its content and use and needs an assessment of the finished site.
